Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett declared that he intended to donate more than 80 percent of his fortune to charitable foundations. In 2020, he increased that percentage to a whopping 99 percent. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, created by Bill Gates and Melinda (the Microsoft founder) was the principal beneficiary. The foundation focused on education and global health. Bill and Buffett had been in contact since the 1990s. The three Buffett children and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation (named after his wife) were among those who received donations. They were focused on reproductive rights for women, funded college scholarships, and had additional charities. In the year 2010, Buffett and Gates formulated the Giving Pledge. This pledge also encouraged other wealthy individuals to donate a majority of their wealth to charitable causes.
